crankshaft oil seal removal (front)

Hi,

I've got the harmonic balancer off the engine (4.0 OHV) and can see the crankshaft seal. I don't have the special tool to pull the old seal out. Is there any trick I can use to get that sucker out without having a special tool? I was thinking about two long small diameter screws on either side and prying it out. Is there an easier way? I'm just a little leary of pushing the seal thru .

Harbor Freight, and AutoZone sell seal pulling tools for a few dollars. For the price, it pays to just buy it. Maybe AutoZone would lend one to you with their tool program. You leave them a deposit, and get the deposit back when you return it.
