Someone mentioned the 24th and 25th for this run, why did i have my mind that it was the first weekend of june??

LOL.. Getting old? Anyways.. I was thinking of also seperating to run for stockers or anyone with less than 32s or 33s. I have asked some wheelers in the Crozet/Charlottesville area for assitance in some trails for us to run. There is a trail called the Madison/Conway trail that is close to Crozet as wells as the Rocky Run trail in GWNF. If you signed up and wanna run trails other than Crozet especially if you are stocker let me know so I can get a head count.

Madison/Conway is harder than our Low Blue trails in my opinion, and I have run that trail.

Thanks Chris.. I wasn't aware of it. From the looks of the pics, your place doesn't look too difficult but I'm sure some of the stock vehicle owners are very wary of body damage to their vehicles.

Speaking as someone that went to Crozet for the first time this year, it looks really scary. I ran the middle blues (blue is easest). I got no damage, (but I did hit a tree with the rear tire). It was my first time rock crawling, and it was verry different than other off-roading I have done. With a good guide, and spotter I belive others will have a positive experience as well. My rig is a sport 5.5-inch lift, 33x12.5 with a 4.56 axle ratio.

How many people are leaving out of North Carolina, specifically surrounding and including, the Greensboro area?

I live in Greensboro, do you wanna meet up and we follow along together? My truck is full. A couple of friends are going with me. But I would really like another truck to fallow along with. Riders don't have to pay do they? If they do I need to know so I can make my friends bring money. Only a month left! I bought new tires just for this!

Excellent! As it gets closer, we can figure out the time and place to meet up. Hopefully by then everything will be good with my vehicle. There are a few things that I think require some attention.

What about spares? I was thinking to go to the junkyard and pick up a rear drive shaft. I have an ECU. ALT, stock brakelines and a starter. Just trying to narrow down thos single point failures.

I'd recommend spare driveshafts front & rear, a spare taillight for each side, definately a spare tie rod end plus inner tie rod, spare axle shafts if your locked, alternators are good to have. Don't forget that there are Parts store just outside Crozet in Waynesboro & Charlottesville.

I'm running an Aussie locker in the front and LS rear. I don't think I can afford all those spares, but I might try and pick up a whole tie rod assembly. I still need to come up with the 200 for the winch mount, probably 200 for gas, 50 for food, and what ever else. I think I might buy a complete set from the junkyard but not sure how much I want to carry.

Good idea to start talking about spare parts. I don't know that i have much for mine, or in stock form parts, but i'll see what i've got that could come in handy. Between us all i'd say we'd be in good shape.

I carry a bunch of spare parts. Worse comes to worse someone in the group will have a part. Stuff like spare axle shafts for the 8.8 are common among explorers. alternators are pretty much the same within the 4.0 ohv. Anything else I'm sure we can get locally. Right now as it sits, I still need to find a transfer case and install that shift solenoid so I have overdrive. Then after that get a winch bumper and finish designing my roof rack basket.

If I am able to trailer my rig down, (only way im coming) ill bring along a spare explorer. (No kidding)

There is a junkyard here that always has Exploders in it and parts are cheap. The transfer case is around 75 plus core wich is'nt that much. I think maybe a hundred and some change out the door. A lot of the trucks out there are picked apart for the trannies, so the t-cases are usualy laying around. I quess problem is getting it to you. I will look if you want. How much are they around there?

Well finding them isn't an issue all the time.. There are 4 U Pick & Pull Yards within 45 miles of me. The issue is me working and having the money to buy one. The asking price was $60 for a t-case plus additional for the shift linkage & stuff for a 1354 manual.

Well dam naver mind. I like the pick and pull here but your prices are definately better. Almost everytime I go I see one laying on the ground, but I have yet to see a manual 1354.

I'm sorry to say I haven't been keeping up on your progress after the roll, Josh... Have you fixed your truck any?
