Thanks to Rick and Chris from crozet, I will be going after all. Sorry about my previous post, I was a little ticked at the time. And a big thanks to Chris for understanding my situation.

Whats the latest on the camping situation? Im down for whatever, as long as I can chill by the fire into the wee hours of the morning.

EDIT: Hold the phone, I may not be allowed pending the interpretation of the PM I got. It looks like I am allowed to ride along, but not drive.

How about I drive yours and you ride along? :D

In all seriousness folks, if I can't get Shelby's transmission fixed by then I'll have to ride along too :( Even if I do get it fixed, looks like I gotta stick to easier trails...

DAMNIT I WISH I COULD SELL MY F#$%@^ HOUSE ALREADY AND HAVE $$ TO FIX ALL MY CRAP!!!! Aaaaaaa!

If I haven't got an Explorer to drive (reliably, lol) by then I'll DEFinitely take you up on that one!

Josh, I am all for the group site. Count me in for that. Whats the price breakdown per person for the weekend?

I'm up for camping... In case you're trying to count vehicles for the campsite... I'll have my F-150 and 4runner (on a trailer)

Well I will need to check with the Campground today, but we need a minimum of 12 people. Also, I was told that there will not be enough room at the site for all of our vehicles. There is parking at the front of the campground which according to the guy I talked to is a short walk away. I need to know for those who are interested, if there will be more than just you coming, because they charge for eveyone including trucks and pets. Below is a list so far. If I missed you please let me know. Also I believe parking will be free for whoever parks up front. The campsite is also on the driveway to the owners house so it cannot be blocked. I am going to ask the campground if we don't have 12 if they will still let us stay there. There are a couple of other people interested but not sure yet. Also, the price for 12 people not including trucks was about 190 for Fri, Sat, Sun.

Josh(ME)
Tenikiwon + 1
sn0border88 + 1 + 2 trucks
Numidian
Limited Ex + 2 trucks

If I come down I may have another person plus the f250 and trailer for parking

I'm not sure where i'm going to stay yet. Looks like i'll be coming down by myself, so if anyone needs a ride around in the park, i'll have 3 open seats!

Well as of right now I have I believe myself, Spas, and Monmix staying at the cabin I'm renting.. If you asked and I didn't add you let me know..

Linds let me know asap or give me a call about the trip, I dont care if you break emily, all the more reason for me to get a new vehicle.

Ok sorry camping people... I'm staying in the cabin... I got all confused and was thinking the camping was the cabin...

Numi=Staying in cabin, not camping

Cabin, what cabin, got any more room? Is there parking for my truck with trailer?

edit: The only thing i've been worried about is leaving my explorer out since i can't lock it up anymore!

Isn't there free camping? Free is good. Free is cheap. Free is the American way. :us: I don't mind sleeping in the middle of a field next to a cow patty. Wake up, SSSSSNIFFFFF the morning goodness. Plus it gives me a good enough excuse to use my tent for the first time ever.

Camping is free here. It is primitive but we do have porta-johns.

Chris

I have a couple of questions about camping. Will it be a problem if we work on our vehicles at the campground. I have been to Crozet and if you push your machine you can break it.

Is anyone bringing an air compressor and tools and or a welder, and will we have electricity to run them?

I am assuming that there will be extra trailers in case we break.

Are there other camp sites available at Misty Mountian, because I would prefer to pitch my tent beside my truck and then walk.

You can work on your vehicles in the field.

There is no power hookups in the field.

I do not know of any campgrounds other than Misty Mountain around here.

We do have a very large bon-fire pit. We only allow open air fires at the pit - not including grills and stuff like that.

Our participation may be in question now. I just found out today that I've got to go to the UK for a short while sometime in June.... Hopefully I'll know by the end of next week when I've got to go.

I'm bring the following in tools..
Cordless sawzall, impact wrench, drill
socket set
Balljoint/Ujoint tool kit
Possibly a air compressor and a welder or maybe just some 6013 welding rods and some cables. Right now its still up in the air about what tools I'll bring other than those listed. Worse comes to worse if we need to make repairs, we can always tap the power at the cabin I'm renting in Misty Mountain.
