So I'm in the midst of a cruise control upgrade from 2nd Gen controls to 3rd Gen media controls (yes, I already have a 3rd gen steering wheel and the necessary clockspring)

I already had the button's resistors changed to match the ones in the second gens but I can't get them to run the cruise, let alone light up at night.

I hooked up the wiring as:
3rd Gen -> 2nd Gen
LB/BL -> LB/BK - SPEED CONTROL INPUT
DG/OR -> DG/OR- SPEED CONTROL GROUND
RD/BL -> RD/BK- ILLUMINATION
YE/GR -> YE/GR- HORN (works)
????? -> BK/WH- GROUND Where do I run this one?

When the car is on, the LB/BK wire runs about 12 volts and spikes when any of the 2nd gen cruise buttons are pressed. The DG/OR wire maintains 0 volts until cruise is turned on, where it will show somewhere around 2 volts, which also spikes when buttons are pressed.

On the 3rd gen buttons, the results for the LB/BK are the same. The 3rd gen DG/OR runs exactly like the LB/BK, maintaining 12 volts. Was a resistor value wrong?

I have the wiring diagrams here (copyright Ford Motor Company)

Thanks in advance :salute:

I know this is old, but I also cannot get cruise to work after 3rd gen steering wheel on a 2nd gen EB mod. Radio and climate control work great, both radio and cruise switches light up, Stumpped
