For Sale Custom 5th Gen Headlights

My lease is up, Explorer is returned, and my custom retrofit headlights are up for sale! Fit 2011-2015 Explorers without HIDs.

As many know, the stock halogen projectors in 5th Gen Explorers are very sup par, while the Xenon/HID options from Ford were hard to come by and underwhelming. To fix this, I opened a set of factory halogen headlights from my Limited and replaced the projectors with Morimoto EVOX-R that take D2S bulbs. The projector is a direct replacement for the factory unit (no mounting modifications), including the same Bi-Xenon operation (low beam is achieved with a shield that is removed by an electromagnet when high beams are activated) . These projectors are lit by Morimoto XB55 Ballasts and 5400k Morimoto D2S Bulbs. Instead of using stock wiring, Morimoto's dual HD Relay system is included, which provides each ballast a direct link to the battery. The result? Some of the best headlights money can buy.

I also painted the majority of the chrome in the headlight, giving it the look of a Sport headlight. I also blacked out the reflectors for the turn signal and parking light. These lights are now lit with high power amber LEDs that produce the same light as stock, but give a much darker look without the chrome reflector. Resistors are included if you have fast turn signal flashing. I did not need these on my EX but some folks have.

The headlights were resealed using Butyl glue from Retrofit source. I also adhered 2 silica packets in each headlight (hidden behind projector) to absorb any humidity. The result? Nearly factory seal with no fogging issues in 12 months of use.

Also up for sale are LED foglights. These are direct fit 2nd gen units from Morimoto. Each fog light contains three 5000k Philips LEDS. This creates a very flat clear cut beam that slices through fog and looks like no other. Retail is $170, looking for $100 free shipping to the CONUS.

Looking to simply recoup some of my costs. The projectors and supplies were $400 and two replacement headlights were $400. Looking at $450 plus shipping anywhere in the CONUS. $450 if picked up in the Twin Cities.

Included:
Two customized OEM Headlight Assemblies
Retrofit EVOX-R Projectors (pre-installed)
Two 5400K D2S bulbs (pre-installed)
Two XB55 Ballasts (pre-installed)
Full 9005 Wiring Harness

Installation is straight forward but will require some customizing. Instructions for the wiring harness can be found at the retrofit source website.

What's the part number on the fog lights? I would be interested. Also and night time photos with the fogs?

Had a pending sale on headlights that fell through, changing price to my break even at $450 plus shipping.

Let me know if the sale falls through.
