Here is my new "AR" bumper
It is made of the same stuff as my sliders. I hope it holds up. I still may need to run some arms to the frame from the bumper on the sides.
Here are the pics:
It looks like it sticks out far because I am still going to build a swing away tire mount for it. I will be building that on Sunday. I will probably put some diamond plate on top too. Haven't decided if I want to put my Hi Lift on it or not yet. I guess I will see.

I was gonna do that when it was still attached to the truck as a "Real" class III hitch. I should have taken a picture of where it says not to "Weld, cut or modify in any way". I thought that was pretty funny. I cut and welded the hell out of it!!

It will all be painted black very soon!

Well, here is the latest and greatest.
On Sunday I finished the bumper. It now has a tire carrier on it and a place for my antenna. It seems pretty stout, and it doesn't shake rattle and roll on the road either. I think I did a pretty good job for my 1st bumper!
Tell me what y'all think.

Here are the photo's!

Good job Andy! :chug:

I might start my project tomorrow.

Sweet! Looks like I will have to make one too as none seem to be available for a 92 explorer!!

It looks like you have previous welding skills. Do you?
It turned out great!!!
I was thinking something along the lines of that.

Yeah, my previous welding skills included my tube doors and my sliders. That was it. This bumper was the biggest welding project I have ever done. I like it a lot. Hope to do a lot more in the future!
