So I've been searching the forums and haven't come up with much.

I recently put 31s on my truck and a spare won't fit under there anymore. So I'm planning to builda custom bumper with a swing out tire carrier. But that leaves the whole under side of the truck empty where the tire would go normally. So I was thinking about cutting out a section of the floor and welding in a box for additional storage space in the back.

I'm sure someone has done this at some point. What I was hoping is that someone had some pictures that I've got been able to find yet. If so, post them up to help me get some ideas please? Thanks.

I had plans to cut through and mount a spare battery but a second fuel tank is going to go there. I have a 33 underneath mine right now so it's possible to fit your 31, cut the front of the bracket that cradles the spare

Well I had already planned on building a custom bumper. I like the ease of external tire carriers instead of the under vehicle method. But, I had also thought about a second fuel tank, but for me, I think that would only cost me more at fill up time. Cause I'd always burn through both tanks before filling up.

I tend to go on alot of trips, and me and my son go camping alot, so I just think an additional hinged storage area under the cargo area would come in handy because on our camping trips, we sleep in the back. So something that lays flat to not mess up our sleeping area, but adds another couple of cubic feet to storage capabilities for items that are too important to leave at the house, but not so essential that we use them every day, would be nice.
