i have a new magnaflow muffler for my jeep and i wanna cut the stocker off at the welds and clamp on the new muffler. my neighbors said i shold definetely ot do it myself and take it to a shop and DO NOT clamp! i know many people with clamped non welded exhaust and they are fine. the cutting and clamping is easy. should i still take it to a shop?

p.s., everything is the perfect length and dimeter so no concerns about that.

Do whatever feels right to you. I personaly have never seen a clamped exaust loosen up and fall off a car, so it doesn't really matter.....

Clamps suck and eventually fall off or leak. :( However they do stay on for a while before doing that.

As long as you have it all the way on you shouldn't have any problems. I would try it, worse that can happen is you end up having welded.
