Hi
I have to change the right CV joint on my 4X4 explorer 1992. I wanted to know if i must take of the cover of the front differential and unbolt something to remove it ..or i shoul only pry it slowly like cars cv joint ???

thank you

Unjless someone has completely redesigned your front end, your '92 has u-joints not CV joints.

The wheel joints are pretty easy to do. The instructions in Haynes or Chiltons are adequate for the job (unless your spindle is seized onto the knuckle real bad).

The middle u-joint in the stub shaft is a pain. The D35 TTB doesn't have a "diff cover" to remove. The beam itself is the diff cover. Because the stub shaft is held into the diff by a C-clip, you either have to pull the differential to get at the c-clip, or wrestle with it underneath trying to change the u-joint in place.

thank you!!!! do you think that the u-joint could be the casue of my wrong alignment wheel??? if no i will stay that **** in place and anyway i never use the 4wd
