Hi, I have a 91 Explorer with a busted Auto Locking Hub. A guy wants to sell me his auto locking hubs off his 89 ranger with a d28 front axle. I know the spline count is different, but some guys are saying that the only difference in the auto lock hubs is the female spline piece that the stub shaft slides into, and that they are interchangeable between the hubs. I have had mine apart and I know that I can get that piece out by itself...Does anyone know if they are interchangeable, has anyone tried it?
