well first things first...search...look at what other people have done and do some reading...its amazing how many questions can be answered with this...but as for a straight axle swap in your truck as a daily driver...it always comes back to what you want to do with it...how much on road and how much offroad...most guys do the early bronco front diff with disc brakes and coils...others narrow a leaf sprung D44 and build their coil mounts and links...while others leave it full length and go coil or leaf...coils ride nicer than leafs...but leafs are simple and easy...also comes down to how much money/time/help you have...hope that helps...if ya got more questions...fire away but try doin some research too...good luck
i dont really think ill be able to find a bronco or f150 hp d44 b/c they're getting really hard to find and im not really wanting to run fullwidth cause i dont wanna have it shortened and go through that mess and i still wanna be street legal so im thinking i can still use my stock coil buckets and going with coils will ride smoother too so im gonna get some coil seats for my wagoneer d44 weld them on and run that...maybe
the coils werent that bad.. i tell ya what, my cousin has a 91 explorer with 31x10.50 bfg all terrain, and ill swear up and down my truck rides smoother than his
could i make some r/a's from DOM tubing and put those things at the end ...i forgot what they're called but theyre on tie rods and are fully adjustable and run it from the axle back (just one piece like a tierod) or do i need to be connected on both under and upper side of the axle
if i go with coils im gonna use these coils
that way i can use my stock buckets...i think and the list is in progress ... anyone know where i can get coil seats
I've heard good things about those. Have you thought about Wild Horses coils at all? I know a lot of the guys on here have used them and I like how soft they are on mine.
