All right this is riving e nuts:

95 Explorer XLT. High miles....how bout 360,000. Engine is great, runs like a top. Trouble is, as of late I have developed a mystery clunk that SEEMS to come from center of vehicle more towards driver side. Usually experience it when going up a hill after slowing down (like after going over a speed bump) or going down hill randomly. Usually does it two to three times in quick succession: clunk!Clunk!Clunk!

Was told possible U-joints. Had them checked out as fine. Another possible was front drive shaft?? Just pulled it and no change.

Other than this it runs great. No power loss......seems to shift fine....not leaking or going through fluid. So hoping it is nothing major as the rest of the truck is golden!

Any ideas would be helpful!!

Broken sway bar end links? But if you've done a visual inspection that would probably be obvious. Bad sway bar bushings maybe? Shock mounts tightened up?

Spare tire nice and tight to the body?
