what good/harm does it do to remove the MAF screen?

hypertech PP3 w/ 170 degree thermo - $320

if you remove the mass air flow screen, you can see slightly better air flow numbers. all it is there for is to remove very large debris to keep it from hitting the MAF sensor and possibly damaging it. IMO this could really only happen if you developed a substantially large intake leak.... and as with removing ANY restriction in the intake you ALLOW for more flow (doesn't mean you actually use it)
