Dana 35 Ifs

I bought a used front diff with 4:56 gears in it. I was ready to install and noticed one of the main bearing caps was broken. I know these are stamped and must be put back in the same location. So my question is, can I use a bearing cap from my existing Dana 35 and put it in the new unit I just bought? Or is this new diff I bought junk?

Nope, it's junk.

Is your old housing good? Swap the 4.56 over to that (you'll have to reset up the gears though).
