this is an updated rethread
have a 1997 explorer with 4.0l sohc that died at stop sign. had code read of p0320 and have replaced cam(and crank)sensor. started up and idled for about 90 seconds then died again. no start and while cranking the check engine light goes out.

today i got it started and it ran for 20 minutes. shut it down but no restart.

any ideas???????

CKP sensor wiring?

P0320 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction

Since your engine doesn't have a distributor and the PCM obtains the engine speed from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor that seems like the logical source of the problem. Maybe there is a problem with the wiring or the connector instead of the sensor.

have checked for broken wire(to ALL sensors) and have found none. probably need to check voltages to sensors but do you have any idea what else may be wrong besides what I have checked?
