Dead fuel pump? I’m on the highway

Okay so first your gonna lift the truck way up in the air, the higher you safely get the rear end supported the better, more room to work
Now you disconnect the filler tube at the gas cap.. 3ea 7mm bolts
Then remove skid plate if provided
Now support the weight of the tank w floor jack and flat board to disperse the weight
Remove front tank to truck bracket bolts 19mm I think
Now remove the tank strap, 13mm usually
Now the tank is loose, carefully lower it so you can gain access to the top of the tank
Now you will remove the fuel line and the wiring.. carefully lower tank

clean the top of the tank and around the pump before removal.
Very good idea, sometimes (like in the video) there is some mud and dirt.
Never know that the tank could be a plastic part?

To disconnect the fuel lines easyly you need a tool like this.
The video shows some plastic strips, i don't think taht this will work properly.

And the Best way to take of the petrol off the tank?
After removing the the fuel filler tube from the tank, put a smal flexible tube
inside the tank and suck the fuel out into gas canister, need enough canister.
Maybe it's not necessary to completely emty the tank.

Some overview.

Hello Wolliman
Txs for your reply
I’ve just bought the tool for the lines as you provided, good tip! That was one of the doubt points I had
Very good schematics!! Helps to understand better the picture
Montevideo hugs you!

I didn’t see it mentioned, but do any of the lights come on? Does the starter crank?

hi, yes all works as it should. But no the pump.
The part is arriving on Wednesday here
I keep posted

Before I drop the tank I always send battery power directly to the pump see if it comes on and builds pressure
Then I check for the power and ground at the truck side of the tank connector

Doing this has saved me from
Dropping the tank a few times

Hi 410
I was not able to do the repair indexed to travel for work $&@$?.
Yesterday I sent the track to the garage and he said to me that the pump is ok, it’s an electrical problem
Werencan it be located?
The relais do his job when in on position

Fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, or the inertia switch are first suspects

I checked all and seemed fine….
Some month ago the obd1 result, shows me an error in the electrical pump circuit, cause the pump doesn’t stops after 2 secs in on position. I never find the cause. May be is related?

If the pump is continuing to run after the prime, it could be something wrong with the ECU.
First the pump would not turn on, now the pump won't turn off. Is this correct?

Or the relay is the short
