Ahhh well my phone wasnt great quality either! 😅
That was the chains? Hm..maybe the cats? I'll find out in the morning while everything's cold I guess. Man I'm hoping.

Its barely there, but it is there. I don't hardly notice this unless I'm flat out listening for it, otherwise it sounds kind of ticky like it did before which no one was able to help me determine really. That other one wasnt a metallic sounding tick though. If ya can, that'd be great!

just figured out how to do the original recording (in post 283)... wish i could get a better video, but at the time i didnt think about it much... (since the video i ahev replaced the primary tensioner) is this similiar to what youre hearing?

That almost sounds more like grindy sort of metallic, rather than ticking like mines doing? I mean, guess they won't all sound the exact same, even different devices record things differently, but still...? As said, I'll have to troubleshoot some tomorrow, see of its still active after a cold start and if it goes with the rpms, to start.

Also, complete side note: how in the actual hell, did I manage this? I noticed it the other day, the chunk of it inside is just gone, never got hit, never hit it, nothing. It's just gone and it's getting condensation inside, serves me right for getting a blazer (blazer made the lights, attempted joke between them and the Chevy blazer)! Still works, but I honestly am so clueless! Just a funny/interesting thing to share, theres no way the chunk fell out of it

yeah, usually the ticking may be more the hydraulic tensioners maybe? because iirc that one wasnt such a metallic noise i think... and im really tired, where is that light located? is it the fog? sorry my brain is moving a bit slow right now :banghead:

That is possible, hopefully some others can get in on this and help diagnose it a bit.

That is one of my aux reverse lights, on the passenger side to be specific. My flood beam, the driver side spot still looks great

JEEZ! That's a new one!! Can't say I heard of that happening, another reason I'm glad mine ain't got one!

Dang, yeah, glad I don't have one...already hear they're a handful enough from leaks alone

heh... yeah... mine used to leak... since then problem solved! the sunroof is kind kf nice though in the Cali heat... once in a while i can park it outside and prop the sunroof slightly open to vent heat, and no one notices ;)

Window vent visors, cracked windows, and some shade, all I need!
Florida heat comes: that, vent, and open windows are what I need, screw the a/c, ain't worked in over two years and I'll still going, would be nice to have working a/c though.

true, i could probably leave the keys on top of the tire and no one would attemp to steal it... after all who steals explorers 😛 but at least no one thinks i have windows open ;)

Modify it enough and someone will want to steal it! Don't even want to chance mine, I literally lock it between grabbing something from it, walking into the garage and back to the truck, constantly locked if I ain't in it! But that's just due to my lack of trust when it comes to most people, that and I won't risk the tools and parts I keep in there! Mom had someone break into her f150 and its tool box for exactly that, lost all her tools and few parts.

true! i guess after the RC lift ill be more careful... then itll stand out... but right now with the 31s tt and OMEs, its not super noticible to most... most think its still stock 😛 but i should do it to protect all my tools that sit in there...

Well, sounds like you're good for now! Definitely a good idea to protect the tools!

Also, still does that tick when it's cold, so I think its come down to the worst, finally. See if I can hold off another paycheck or two. At least get it checked out by a shop before 100% jumping in on the chains, even though I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

How old is the tensioner on that cassette?

On mine, as said, don't believe it's ever been worked on from what I can find, so it's all oem from '99.
