I know it's bad, but it's finals week and I don't have time to do it myself, but I went to a 15min oilchange place, all was well just tcase fluid was dirty, which I expected, it got wet a few times ;) , but does dexron III (what they put in) meet Mercon requirements, is it sort of a "brand" difference? Just wanted to know what everyone thought.

EDIT: my first searches were not any good, but I did find an answer. I guess dexron III is interchangable. My bad posting, someone can get rid of this thread if they want. SEARCH IS GOOD.

From what I understand, DexronIII and Mercon are equivalent fluids. DexronIII is what GM and other non-Fords like to call it, Mercon is what Ford wanted to call it.

its fine. :)
The BW1354 is not picky about the type of ATF you use.
Just use what your truck wants ont he dipstick in the trans (automatic) and same fluid in the T case, Mercon/Dexron will work.
