While working on the Ex (2000 Limited 4.0 OHC) to replace the lower thermostat housing, when I removed the Air Duct from the Throttle Body (TB) I noticed a good amount of oil gunk in the TB. When I removed the hoses from the air duct I noticed a little bit of oil on the hose that connects to the engine cover. What could be possible causes for this? Head gasket gone bad or something else?

I know the Ex have a little oil leak. I see a few drops on the floor. I can also smell the oil when driving slow or when stopped.

I am thinking about replacing the lower thermostat housing a'nd taking the Ex to the shop for the oil in the TB a'nd locate the oil leak problem.
