disabling the auto lamp switch on a rear view mirror

Hi everyone I'm in need of anyone's help I am a proud owner of a 98 Ford Explorer XLT and I'm having issues with the delay switch on the mirror even tho I have the switch completely on off which is the left the green light stays on day and night when the car is started but when I shut the car off the green light stays on and all the lights on my car stays on for a little while I would like to disable that feature so I can just use my regular light switch please tell me how I can resolve this issue thanks

You can pull the plug out of the back, it will disable the Autolamp feature.

Ok will it be the wires that comes from the very top I really didn't look good at the back of the mirror I think it's just one wire correct ?

It's a wire harness. Not quite large, but you press down on a tab and it'll come right out.
