Dog, Hit, Shot, and Frozen... Lives

Ok, i'm all for putting an animal out of its misery if it stands no chance of recovery. I've hunted for all of my life and cannot stand to see an animal suffer. To some that might seem like an oxymoron....and i don't care because those of us that do know exactly what i'm talking about. The officer was doing what he thought was right. In the heat of the moment anyone could have made a mistake. I really don't know why I'm taking the officer's side, I love dogs; but I can also see the human perspective from this incedent. He never had training over whether or not to put an animal out of its misery, he acted on instinct and instinct will carry you a long way. In the freak cases like this people always "whine" compared to the harsher word. But who knows in 90% of the other cases the dog might have suffered for hours before dying.

one other point I forgot to add... an eye for an eye is valid, but I think its more then an eye for an eye in a case where the "victim" is small and cute and innocent and unable to defend itself. I.e. when an adult man rapes a 9-year old girl, I think he should be put to death. If someone were to punch my sweet and innocent little dog I'd likely beat the **** out of them.

Jeez I`ve heard of dogs in car accidents keepings paramedics away from their unconscious owners being shot, but he didn`t have time? WTF was he even doing at the scene of a dog being run over then if he didn`t have time, and why was it his duty to decide what happened to the dog or what it`s fate might be? Shoot a police dog in the same situation you`d be in jail. What a dick.
