dome light stays on

i have a 02 xlt and my dome lights stay on as well as my drivers courtesy light is out. yes I changed the bulb. If i turn off the dash lights all works fine.
What could it be. thanks in advance

Is your "door ajar" light on?

no it is not on

I had the same problem but as it turned out it was the Driver's Side Door Switch. The Door Ajar light did not always light.

All fixed. Search the threads and it turned out to be a broken wire between the door and the jamb. thanks to all great forum.
