Just a suggestion if anyone is getting a door ajar light problem in their Ford Explorer in the winter or when it rains you might want to check if you have a sticking door switch. Then check for a bad ground wire on one of the door switches. If that fails check your rear window and rear hatch door switches. It is bound to be one of these issues.

Make sure only 1 of your headlight wires is grounded. If both are grounded then you have a short on the second wire. Use a multimeter to check that and verify. Touch the lead to the wire and other lead to the metal of the car, if both leads give continuity then you will know for sure that is the problem.
