hey guys i was thinking of removing the door moldings from my 98,
just wondering if there is paint underneath the moldings because my bro took off his moldings to his altima and there was primer underneath, not paint. also was wondering if there is a certain way to take them off or if there just take em off type deals

should be factory paint, use "piano wire" or slip a stiff piece of plastic behind there and pull on a warm day or use a heat gun. You can also soften the tape with special chemicals available at an autobody supply store. If its ever been repainted you might have to re-paint or wet sand the paint lines if the trim wasnt removed when painting previously.

Primer under the molding on the Altima?? That doesn't sound right. Sure it wasn't glue? Either that or the car was repainted. Even then, who would primer a car, install moldings, then paint?? And I'm certain the factory wouldn't install moldings, then paint the car. No way. Interesting...
