Are these led bulbs or incandescent? I found colored bulbs that look similar (finally)... I messed up on my paint the bulbs" project and was just going to buy some colored ones and solder them in instead... Think 3mm led bulbs are a match? What do I need to look for as far as resistors, voltage, etc?

Yes 3mm LED's are what you need. You don't need resistors cause your switch already has them to opperate the existing LED's

Thanks, dirty dog :)

How difficult will it be to replace the lights for my cruise control buttons in my steering wheel while I'm at it? Any idea?

I don't mean to be a pain, but I would like to order all the bulbs I'm going to need at once, before I start tearing apart my interior... I'm trying to add up how many bulbs I need to order, but unfortunately I dont have access to my vehicle right now because I'm in the Coast Guard and we are away from home port. I would like to order all the bulbs so that I can begin working on my project when we get home at the end of the month.

I'm trying to remember which ones light up! I know the door switches, antiroll on/off button, headlight knobs, heater/ac knobs, and my instrument cluster bulbs (help on the bulb sizes for the last 3 things would be great!) I cant remember if my message center, 4x4, and sunroof buttons and switches light up, but I don't think they do.

I appreciate any help that anyone has to offer!!!

Hey no problem. The only help I can offer is that in my '99 only the buttons on the front doors lit up. The power window buttons on the rear doors didn't.

Thanks Afboy :) I've already taken the switches apart once because I was going to paint them, decided now that I want to just change out the bulbs. Not sure what size the cluster and all that are though... guess I'll just have to pull everything apart, write down size numbers, reassemble, order bulbs, etc

I changed mine out today. It was a lot of work. I did get a few pictures, and eventually I will have to change the switch board on the driver side (since I'm an idiot with soldering).

Has anyone else done this? My front doors light up, but the rears don't. I am wondering if I may have to change the resistor that is already on the board since blue LED's specs are a bit different than green.

in my '99 Limited the lights for the windows on the rear doors never did light up. They may have lights in them, I didn't check. If you only got 2 wires going to the switch, then it will be the same in your case also

I already know that they light up, because they were green before. I put blue LED's in them, and they didn't light up (both driver and passenger side rear doors). I know I couldn't have messed up 4 LED's in a row, and my front ones work. I am wondering if the resistance needs to be changed. I'm not gonna mess with them again until someone finds out...Im no electrical engineer.
