So I was sitting at school waiting for my truck to warm up before I drove to my doctors office, and I noticed that my truck was sort of idling rough, maybe even misfiring. So I tapped the gas, and it went away, so I leave the school, and BAM the Check Engine light comes on. :frustrate So I got to my doctors office, then drive home, the entire time being all mad about the light being on. So I get home and plug in my Scanner, and it pulls up a code, P0402, So I come inside and look it up, something about the EGR, with a nice long post a about it.... Can't read it all now, I actually have to leave here in 5 minutes.... regardless Where is the darn thing so I can test it?

My Truck: 1996 Eddie Bauer 4Door AWD V8.

Thanks for any help.

Nothing, huh, so just search, and hope I find it then...

Its on the back of the intake manifold. Right in the center.

oh, well that sounds like fun... I'll have to see what Alldata, or Shop Key has to say about getting to it, they seem to be pretty good about moving as little amount of stuff as possible.

You can get to it with a 7mm 1/4 drive ratchet and socket. I just changed mine. I had to lay on top of the motor to get to it. And you dont have to remove anything to get to it.

Alldata's diagram of how to replace it is pretty much useless for our trucks.
