SNAFU # 1,
I got 2x6 and a 2x12 to replace the boards in the trailer, and found out it was one 2x6 and 2 2x8's on each side getting replaced, oops. Time for a 2x4 to fill the gap.
The pivot point figured out, now to paint and mount.
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not let me near your equipment! Mig welder, down, arc welder, down.

I'm wondering how your bloody camera is still working mate
!!! Hinge came up a treat, solid as!!!

Tape measures and instructions have something in common for me, they only get used after I've made a mistake! (Might explain the s***ty quality of my fab work!)

I wondering how my camera is still working also, Greg!!!
A tape measure sounded like a good idea after the fact! My Dad always said, " Boy, read the instructions after everything else fails"

Painted and drying, of course I heard thunder while I was painting them, but we need the rain.
The piece that will mount into the hitch.
And the carrier itself.
SNAFU # 2, thought I had black spray paint, but it was undercoating, so it got painted with undercoating, I ain't here to win no "pretty" contest.

The carrier mounted:
With the tire
Work position, this turn out good Bro!!, the brackets catch the hitch mount and stops it in the perfect position.
With one of the world famous covers that Sue makes!!!!!!!
Just need to get a wing nut for the release bolt, the heads are just too close.

Do you have a side shot of the new carrier w/ tire? I've been messing with ideas for my tire carrier (to get it off the roof). I'm having a hard time with the distance of the tire/rim to the body/glass.

If you go to a full size spare(12.5" wide), will it still fit on that? I'm thinking down the road when you go to 35" tires. Or will you get another 9" wide spare?

Yes, there's enough room there for a 12.5 Might have to put a spacer to push the bottom of the tire out, but it will fit.
