I have all the symptoms of the rear diff hum problem only it is not the rear diff. A couple of months ago I had the transfer case rebuilt because the viscus disc I think it is called and some other components went bad. Shortly after I got it back I started hearing the hum when I was going 35-45mph at a constant speed and it went away if I took my foot off the gas. They removed the driveshaft to the rear diff and the noise was still there so that eliminates that. Replaced the ring and pinion twice in the front diff and the noise still remains. I am begining to think that it is the transfercase agian but they don't seem to think so. What else can it be?

t-case. dont let them BS you, take it somewhere else for another opinion. if it wasnt there before, and is there now after having work done to it, 9 times out of 10, whatever was worked on is the problem. IE- transfer case.
