Driver's side Door Lock Issues..

My driver's side door lock botton locks but will not unlock the doors. The passenger side works fine, as does the switch by the rear door. I bought a new switch thinking maybe the old one had worn out but had the same problem when I put it in. Any ideas what else could be my problem?? It's a 98 XLT

Sometimes the solenoid works loose- take the door card off and check that and the rubbish metal wires used as links as they can bend and not work as they become shorter when bent!

Pretty common problem, happened to mine, still havent fixed it yet tho..

wires in the drivers door jamb wires get fatigued and break . take apart the boot and look in there on the body side
