Merry Christmas all!
i have an issue where i am no longer able to lock/unlock my 2006 Explorer driver's door with the key, but everything works fine with the remote. i took off the door panel this weekend and found that there was a connecting rod from the actuator that was dangling in the door and there was nothing connected to the inside portion of the door lock. when i move the rod, the door locks/unlocks. i can see the inside of the lock mechanism moving when i work the key, but its not connected to anything. for the life of me, i couldn't figure out how to connect the rod (which does have a J hook at the top) to the lock mechanism.
did something break on the lock where the j-hook on the connecting rod attaches? i've been unable to find any door/parts assembly diagrams showing how the connection is made.
Any help would be appreciated!
Best,
Paul
