Drivers Side PWR Seat..

MY 96 Limited is having problems with the drivers side power seat. The joystick works up and down but not forwards or backwords. Also the seat memory buttons dont seem to be working either. Usually when I set the seat memory, the green led lights up...now there it nothing. Is there a relashionship bewteen the two? Any ideas appreciated..

Pulling apart the seat track is a real pain. My problem was the front would not go up and down. I could see it was caused by the motor by unplugging the motor assembly and checking the resistance of each pair. Cleaning the brushes took care of that problem. The motors are heavy duty enough I doubt if they would burn out.

If you decide to work on yours, take lots of pictures before disassembling the track. I cleaned the brushes on all three motors and also pulled apart and cleaned the seat position sensors. It has worked perfect for over a year.
