I cannot get my driver's side rear door to open. I have the door panel taken off and have been messing around with the lock and mechinism and still cannot get anything figured out. Any ideas on what to do or what could cause this problem?

Thanks

pb blaster and wd-40, lots of grease, i geased waht i could and sprayed everything, then worked the lock up and down untill it came unlocked, mines stuck again now lol.it wont open from either side? how hard was it to take the door panel off from inside?

It won't open from either side. That is what makes it a pain to do anything to it. Getting the panel off sucked. I just kept trying to pry at it in different spots. My passenger side front door quit working from the outside about a month ago. I got that figured out tho. It ended up just being a little clip inside the door.

...o ya, i have manual locks so mine will be different probably, but, look inside and see what isnt working right, i pushed the lock button up and down and seen what parts where moving and lubed the hell out of them, pull the door handle and make sure all the parts are connected, i lucked out and the parts only needed re oiled, does the inside door handle stay pulled out?

The door handle goes right back in after you pull it....

ok then maybe some parts just need lubed to work again, on our 95 both rear door handles are in the out position and u have to open both doors from the outside, i think i read somewhere here that that would mean some parts have broke or came apart, so i would try a can pf pb blaster, i think u can unlock the door manually by pulling up on the one part inside...good luck

The inner handles have plastic gears in them, they loose teeth. New units are under $15, they have two screws to swap them out.

Try pushing in gently on the door from the outside, as you pull a handle open. The latch/striker area is probably what is hanging or sticking. Try to get lubricant through the latch backside to the striker area. Good luck,

I tried lubing everything.... Nothing worked. I just ended up buying a whole new latch and installed it. Everything works great now. Thanks for all of your help guys!
