My 2002 will not move in drive or reverse. Checked fluid it's good. I found no loose wiring or anything obvious. I can start by selecting 1st, then 2nd, then 3rd. After I build rpms in third I switch to drive and sometimes it works. Most of the time I push the rpms so high that the od light starts flashing and I instantly feel it go into limp mode and it actually drives fine. If I do get it to shift while in drive before the od light comes on, it only lasts until I come to a stop then nothing again. As long as it goes into limp mode I can start and stop in drive. Its got me puzzled. Only have one code and it's for p1700. Anyone run into this scenario before?

Does it sound like the bands need tightened?

Is there something I should add to the fluid to collect contaminants or just change it and filter first?
