As the title suggests, I lost a TC nut into the bellhousing. I can get another nut, but should I worry about having a loose one dancing around in there?

TIA

I would try to use a powerful magnet to bring it up to where you could grab it. I would be worried about it getting jammed between the starter gear and the flexplate.

Still trying to fish this nut out. Do I risk damage if I rotate the engine backwards in my attempts to access the nut? Your advice is appreciated.

if it is an OHV you can rotate it backwards, if SOHC no,,

It is SOHC. Thanks

it may be possible to loosen all the other T C nuts off again, and loosen the trans bolt a bit ,slide it back enough to get that nut out,

maybe tilt the back of the trans up enough to get a piece of wire in there and hook the nut to get it out,

I hate the idea that I have to back the tyranny off, but I'm sure you're right. Argh.

Ill do that tonight.

I got it, thanks. I had to separate the trans as Corkey recommended. Thanks all!
