This might be mundane but do I'm about to add a Flowmaster 40 series and was wondering about doing a dual exhaust. Do I need two mufflers or can I just use one and add a Y pipe that I keep reading about? Are there also any drawbacks or advantages to a dual exhaust besides the sound?

Best bet is single in single out. Put a Y after it goes over the axel as the space, as far as I can tell, is limited.

The Y pipe is the pipe that connects to the exhaust manifold, then comes together to form one pipe. Unless you modify the Y Pipe, you'll always have a single system, no matter how fancy you get with the pieces downstream.

I was going to do true duals, but that would reduce the back pressure too much and would decrease my MPG's. However, it would increase power.
