The Duplicolor body paint in a spray can also says it is also OK for vinyl and plastic in small print on the front of the can. This paint is color coded to the exterior of many vehicles. I believe it is acrylic paint.

Has anyone used it on their colored bumpers and trim?

I have always used Duplicolor black trim paint and Krylon paint for plastic, however, color choice is limited in these paints.

I used a regular acrylic enamel on my Explorer's center console. Painted it black, and there were no issues with bonding. I was actually quite surprised. Just used a good wax and grease remover, then washed the parts in soap and water to ensure it was as clean as could be before painting.

I called Duplicolor last week and asked them if it would be okay to use their Ford blue engine enamel on my plastic valve covers and they told me it would be fine. Just to be sure to lightly sand them first. I'm kind of going another route however. I'm going to use a textured rustoleum on them first and then paint over that with blue for the hammered aluminum look.
