I performed my first oil change and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the oil filter was to get to!

My previous vehicles were not easy and made for a very messy job.

However, only after changing my oil and starting my vehicle did I realize that there was no oil pressure gauge. I'm not sure I ever owned a vehicle without an oil gauge.

The engine has an oil pressure sensor, it just doesn't want to tell you what the pressure is :)

In any case, I'd depend on the system electronics to tell me if it disagrees with the oil type or lack of pressure thereof.

It cost me $80 to change my oil to synthetic at the service department, guaranteed for a year, in the meantime I may have to top off the oil 1qt a year after the 3 year warranty (and what's up with a premature 3 years?) My old X5 needed after 1qt a year after the 5 year warranty was up.
