Hey, I've got a 99 Explorer v6 150kw, it's stock right now but I want to get greater ground clearance, maybe put on 33's, with a lift of 4"? I dont know, I have been reading different ways to lift the car, TT, Shackles, Bodylift etc..

But I'm wondering which is the "easiest" way to get a good ground clearance of atleast 4" lift so I can fit my 33's, and not spend 5 days in the garage with a body lift..

It can cost a little extra, I'm a bit new to the explorer, just baught it and for the purpose of having some fun offroad..

Open to any suggestions, thanks

Sawzall and larger tires... :D

How long does it take to get the body kit installed, if you have the proper tools and right equipment etc...

By the way do you think that with a 3" bodylift and 1,75" TT, and some fender trimming, it is possible to clear 315/75-16?

i have checked it out already, didnt give me much... But I want somebody who has it, has experience of larger tires, for e.g. 295/75-16, thats 33,5", thats alright I guess with a bodylift, TT/Schakles, and some fender trimming..

By the way, does anybody know how long time it takes to do the bodylift? Cant find it anywhere.. Again, for someone with a little bit of knowledge of working with cars and the right equipment..

Budget yourself 8 hrs. Some claim it takes 3hrs, some say a whole weekend 12 hrs plus. It really depends on how rusted the body bolts are and how much you have to fight the body mount brackets.

With the TT, SL, BL you can fit 285/75/16's but will need to do some trimming and might have some rubbing at full lock especially over bumps or flexed out.

It took me two days to do my body lift not including moving the bumpers, but I had some pretty rusty bolts. It was also my first time doing a body lift. For about $220 you could get 4 1/2 inches of lift between the body lift and shack/TT lift.

This is right on. We can't give you an exact estimate because every truck is different. I wasn't able to complete mine in 1 day because I spent 9 hours (yes, you read that correctly - 9 hours) trying to get the two engine compartment body bolts out.

It SHOULD be a 1 day job, but it might not be. Set aside a weekend to be safe.

4wd? superlift gives you 4" then you have torsion bars and body lift, s.o.a, and so on and so forth. just boils down to if you wanna spend close to 2g's for the superlift lol. just be careful with those body lifts man, they are scary to me!
