Hey guys,

I was wondering how the EGR tube is held into the intake manifold? The bottom of the tube is blocking me from removing the intake manifold to do an intake reseal.

Here is a picture attached. The Red circle is where it goes into the manifold and I dont know how its held into place, and the green circle is where the bottom of the tube curls and its blocking me.

Just delt with that on my 4.0
It is technically held in place only by an o ring. We used a dull chisel, channel locks, and hammer to tap it out of the manifold. Very careful though, the manifold will crack easily.

all i do at this point is undo the upper plenum nuts and start lifting the plenum off. Then, you can work the egr tube out.

next time, take dipstick off, and only loosen the two egr bolts. then pull the plenum off. This seems to work really well for me.

The egr tubes a pain, at best.
