I'm not really sure about it, but taking a look at wiring diagram I can't see why not. Maybe just check pin 32 for ENGINE SELECT (V6 OPEN / V8 GROUND).

look at the bottom half of the page and you'll see he tried to put in a 98 mc into his 97 and it was all messed up due to VSS and other electrical issues, to get this to work you will have to get a mc out of 95-97 truck
