anyone here tried them? If so, what shock did you use? The wife has a 94 Explorer XLT 4-door that I'm trying to improve for her since the "Honey we need to get you a BIGGER SUV" talk didn't work.
I'm tired of the crappy ride this thing has. The shocks are 2 years old with 15K miles and they're already trash. I've heard Tokico's are good, but since I want to put 17's on it, I'm going to put Eibachs on it and lower it a tad since it's a 2WD.
ANy suggestions? :exp:

I would like to know as well. My 98 EB's ride sux! :thumbdwn:

they only thing I fear is finding the correct length and dampened shock. Possibly Bilstein Sports? My suspension friend recommended KYB's or Tokico's with the Eibachs but I'm not sure if it's the route I need to go since it's the woman's car

Katmandu - you're out of luck, your 98 has torsion bars, not springs.

ProPhotog - I would not drop it with springs if you're trying to improve the ride. Been there, done that. Using drop springs affects the amount of travel you have between your bumpstops and the frame, and you don't have much as it is stock. I-beams are the only way to go for a good drop, although they're a bit pricey ($450 after shipping), but you'll be much happier, as will your alignment. They won't help your ride though, so I'd recommend drop i-beams, new replacement springs ($70 from parts store) and GOOD shocks. Check out this thread for my solution.
