I don't know how late I am on the uptake of this, but electric turbos have always been a dream. All the benefits of a turbo, without the drawback of turbo lag since the turbo no longer depends on exhaust gas speed, instead it is accelerated by a high speed electric motor.

The E-turbo would eliminate hot side plumbing making a turbo install much easier in custom applications. I hope this finds it's way to the performance aftermarket.

Well, scratch that, it looks like it's a hybrid which uses both exhaust and electric drive depending on RPM. :(

People have been doing this for years on youtube... with leaf blowers. ;)
(I'm not claiming it worked).

I believe Mythbusters did an episode on them. Or maybe it was just a Youtube channel. LOL I recall a huge bank of leaf blowers and a slight increase in performance for a ridicoulous amount of effort.
