electrical question

sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I have a PCM computer out of a 2000 grand cherokee that I am using for a project im working on. Anyways on the wiring diagrams I was finding the power and ground wires for the PCM when I saw that 2 power wires say 5volt supply. How do I supply 5 volts to these wires when im working with 12volts?? IF i hook 12 volts up to these wires will I burn the PCM up? Im going to fuse these wires but I just am scared to hook 12 volt up to it cause I dont want to burn anything up. I dont know if it helps but it came out of a jeep with a 4.0 liter motor

12v will burn out whatever is on the 5v circuit... A fuse will only pop after the circuit has been fried...

Upon further investigation in my wiring diagrams I see that the 2 5volt wires actually come out of the PCM and go to 2 sensors that i dont need so I dont think they will be a problem. But I guess I will see once i get it all hooked up.
