Email address spam

If I delete my current email address, will the spam emails bounce back to their servers, or whatever happens, resulting in them deleting my address from their list? Then I could just set it up again in a few weeks?

I was getting one specific kind of email (the format was always the same; some large pastel colored graphic with business spam on it) and now a second kind has started coming in (a bunch of Chinese lingo). It sucks cause I have an email address I use when I think using it will invite spam. But I get more crap at my good address than I do my Yahoo spam one.

In theory, I like your idea. But in reality, most of the spam is sent by bots, so I don't know if it makes any difference if they bounce or not. I think once they have your address, they just keep sending them no matter what. Its not a high percentage payoff, so they just hit every address they can.

I also set up a "junk" email address so I could kill it if the spam got too bad, but I rarely get spam on the "junk" address, but all kinds of spam on my work address which is only used for work.

Is this spam coming via explorerforum.com email address?

Deleting, and then waiting for awhile to recreate the address will not change anything.. Believe me. You should see the crap the spam filters here on explorerforum.com stops. We still get email for addresses that have been gone for YEARS.

Best thing is to get a good spam filter (either via ISP, or local mail programs) and kill it that way.

Nah.. it's my ****@section525.com address. I changed the settings on my Outlook to "Block it all and maybe even mail you want" and that helped a little. Still, about two or three slip through every day now. Not bad.

I have SBC. I'll see if there's anything I can do to keep it from even getting to Outlook. Thanks guys.

I am using sbc, I have 2 e-mails set up. 1 for seriousness, another for "stuff"

I find their software to be good, IF you refrain from filling out on-line applications or surveys. My junk addresss get at least 75 spams a day, good one maybe 1 or 2, but they go directly to the bulk folder.

Section we have yahoo small business as well and I get 0 spam and 0 viruses, what gives?
In fact I get notifications of any email that contained a virus? Something is a miss
