Engine Check Light Comes on

I have checked the engine codes in manual and I keep getting codes, "1 and #2 bank is running lean". I have replaced the EGR valve and sensor above the valve, replaced the spark plugs and wires, air filter and MAF(mass air flow) sensor and even gone so far as looking through the top portion of the engine and there seems NOT to be a vacume leak. Can anyone enlighten me on the possibilities and solution of this problem? The engine is a V6/4.0L/1996 Ford Explorer/4x4. My contact email is dennisb7@comcast.net

Thanks for the response....would the engine overheat if the intake gasket is bad? The car doesn't overheat according to the gauge :-(
I'll check the intake gasket and see if I have a vacume leak there......thanks
