Engine Computer

I was told that I have an ODB I engine computer. The book I have talks about running tests on EEC-IV systems. I am assuming that this will not work. Which Fords have the EEC-IV systems. This book says nothing about model years.

OBD is not the computer, its a diagnostic system. You have the IV computer.

EEC IV = OBD I

EEC V = OBD II

You have EEC IV system, OBD I.

91-95 = EEC IV (OBD I)

96-01 = EEC V (OBD II)

02 = PTEC (still OBD II I think)
