I was slowing down my 2003 XLT to stop at a light when the vehicle just shut down. I coasted to a safe stop at the light, threw it in PARK, and restarted with no problem. However, upon restarting I heard a fast ticking, almost a metallic scraping noise for about 10 seconds and the sound went away and the vehicle was fine. No further problems since then. I am concerned that this might happen again without notice. Any ideas?
