Heres the problem, my 06 Explorer (v6 4.0L) kept over heating so I had it Towed to a mechanic to find out what happened to it, he told me it was the water pump and asked for a lot so I took it home because and changed it myself. The next day I drove the car about thirty miles when I stopped at a gas station the car started overheating, So I waited for it to cool down and went to a auto zone and asked what it was and they told me it was the themostat so I bought that and the gasket and replaced it. So test drove it again same thing. can anyone help I have no idea whats going on.
Thanks

did you check your radiator, the 06 and 07s have defective radiators that ford doesnt want to issue a recall on, its a good thing you got those other parts replaced as well

Did you burp the radiator lines after these repairs?

BTW: When I flushed the radiator, I had to aggressively squeeze the top radiator line about 20 times while the engine was running to burp my system and get all of the trapped air out... until it was burped the coolant would not circulate properly and engine would run too hot.
