I had my aircon repaired a few weeks ago.....prior to this I had no overheating issues with my 4.0L V6. Now when I run my aircon unit (on cold as I live in Qatar) and especially when I run the rear aircon my engine starts to overheat. The wierd thing is that the problem is erratic.....sometimes I can run the aircon and it doesn't overheat at all, and other times I can drive with the aircon on for 20 or 30 minutes and then suddenly I see the temperature guage start to go up until the warning lights come on and I have to stop the car. Then, if I let the engine cool down for 10 minutes and start again without the aircon on the car will run at normal operating temperature!! Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing the problem?

I have the same problem in my '99 Explorer XLT! Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
