hello, was on a trip with my 98 explorer 4.0 vin x, 165000 miles, and lost power then engine died and no restart. fuel was way low coasted as far as i could then stopped and it restarted and drove fine for another 200 miles. thought maybe fuel gauge was not reading correct but after driving another 150 miles the next day i had the same issue. restarted after cycling key then had one instance of lost power but it did not die and corrected itself. drove another 150 miles home and was thinking bad fuel pump but checked codes and had P1260-theft detected engine disabled. could a failing pats part cause the engine to stall? or is it more likely that the code set due to the engine stall itself? check engine light never came on, nor did the theft light come on while the engine was running. thanks
